      It is a violation of the law to retaliate against a worker who is injured on the job and  
  - Traffic Ticket Defense   makes a report of injury. Retaliation against a worker who hires an attorney to  
      represent him/her in a workers compensation hearing is also prohibited.

      A worker who reports for duty at his/her place of employment does not lose the rights  
      of an American citizen. A worker who makes comments on matters of  
      "Public Concern"and then is retaliated against by the employer is protected from  
      retaliation by the First Amendment right of free speech.

    A worker who is fired or demoted because of false statements made by representative

      FMLA  
         
      This important law came into effect during President Bill Clinton's term of office. It  
      stands for The Family Medical Leave Act. Important rights to time off from work are  
      afforded to a worker when he/she is seriously ill or a relative is seriously ill. An  
      employer is prohibited from retaliating against a worker who qualifies under FMLA.

      FLSA  
         
      This is known as The Fair Labor Standard Act. This law protects workers against  
      employers who underpay workers by such acts as refusing overtime pay or failure to  
      keep proper records.  
         
         
      TWC Unemployment Benefits  
         
      A worker is eligible for unemployment benefits by filing with the Texas Workforce  
      Commission when the worker is involuntarily separated from employment by their  
      employer when no misconduct has occurred.
